How to make someone happy
“To be kind is more important than to be right. Many times, what people need is not a brilliant mind that speaks but a special heart that listens.” Said an unknown. To make someone happy you have to drop your personal definition of happiness, and to make that work you can follow these steps; be a good friend, be thankful, and smile.
The first step, be a good friend. Be emotionally supportive. Everyone wants to know they are loved and appreciated. Firstly, encourage others to follow their dreams and goals. Also, cheer them up when they are down by telling them jokes, taking them out, and wishing them the best of luck. Moreover, support them through their rough time. Another thing, be a friend in need and indeed. Finally, be a good listener. Others may cry over your shoulder and tell you about their troubles. So, just listen and advise them to do something good.
The second step is as important as the first, be thankful. First, learn to appreciate other’s effort and time. Show your gratitude by sending a text massage thanking others for listening to you, or for the favour others made you. Besides that, be the first one to give a helping hand to whoever needs it. People get inspired by every good action you make, and when they see you doing the best you can to help, they’ll try to help others as well. Finally, volunteer your time to people in need. Help the elderly, help the homeless, help the orphanage, and do different community services.
The last step, be happy yourself. First of all, be spontaneous, get others a present and surprise them. It does not have to be big, but it has to be good. Also, smile. A smile can be contagious and terrific, but it is a simple way to make someone others happy. Besides that, a smile changes the others’ mood instantly. Finally, smiling can influence a person to become more positive, optimistic, and motivated.
To sum up, brightening up others’ day in any way will bring you good karma. As an unknown said: “If you give a good thing to the world, then over time your karma will be good, and you’ll receive good.”
