Food Safety Importance in Hospitality Industry
“Let your food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food”, Food safety refers to conditions and practices that preserve the quality of food to prevent adulteration and food-borne illness. The great majority of people will experience a foodborne disease at point in their lives. This highlights the importance of making sure the food we eat is not contaminated with potentially harmful bacteria, toxins and chemicals, may it could harm the reputation of the hospitality industry. Following are the major concerns for the food safety in hospitality industry.
Concerns of Food safety which includes general food safety, infant formula, milk, food allergies, and much more, In the hospitality industry. Firstly, the major issue arises from farming, production where pesticides are used in many agricultural operations, fruit and vegetable production. Revelation to it has been linked to infertility, birth defects, nervous system damage, poisoning and even cancer. Nevertheless, washing produced food is an vital role which could reduce the pesticide acquaintance. Poisonous materials used for pest control must be suitable for use in a food establishment and used according to pesticide law.

Furthermore, food contamination is the next concern for food safety. Storage of food in the hotels can lead to food contamination. Ingesting heavy metals found in food can also lead to serious causes. Minamata disease from mercury and Itai-Itai disease from cadmium. Bacteria’s, chemicals found on uncovered food can lead to food poisoning may to death, in some cases.
Moreover, third concern is foodborne illness for food safety. Foodborne illness, most prevalent risk with food supply in the hotels, motels, inn’s etc. this could even harm the reputation of hospitality industry. Rapid increase in diseases by low sanitation among factory farm practises. But, better production, processing and distribution practises can avoid the contamination of food. Millions of people suffer from food poisoning each year and some get ill even to the extent of death. Better education about the food safety and preparation of food can lower the increasing number of people getting hospitalised due to food poisoning each year at global level.
Next, antimicrobial is the forth one for food safety. Antimicrobial resistance is the ability of a microbe to resist the effects of medication previously used to treat them. Wide spread of anti-toxins can cause the improvement of anti-toxin safe maladies and diseases. Microbes can quickly advance this characteristic with delayed presentation. To anti-toxins and utilizing anti-microbials in a protection way as opposed to restoratively can prompt maladies and diseases that are untreatable.

Finally, last but not the least is environmental effects of agricultural farm for food safety. Environmental effect is the negative part of human action on the biophysical condition. Nevertheless, we can stop this by educating people about food safety or by some strict action alike by starting a petition on stopping the use of pesticides and for educating people about food safety.
